After his wife died Josiah McDOUGALL was in a de facto relationship of possibly 14 years with Catherine BEACHLEY ms SMALLEY. It is thought that he was the unnamed father of her 5 children born 1900-1913 at Bridgewater, Inglwood and Raywood. (Marie Van Straten). Catherine's husband had deserted her but he was still living and this would be the reason for not naming the father.
