Other children of Henry Edward MUNDY (1824-1904)

According to research by Wynnette Ford it is believed that Henry Edward MUNDAY/MUNDY had a total of possibly 25 children. Twelve to his legitimate wife Ann/Nancy HOWELL, one with Elizabeth WIGGINS and perhaps another twelve to his common law wife Eliza 'FRANKLIN'. Eliza (b 1842 Hobart) was the daughter of George BILLETT/BELLETTE and Jemima LARSON/M. She had married a man calling himself John FRANKLIN, who was actually former convict John YARD.

Eliza and John had four FRANKLIN children of their own before Eliza took up with Henry MUNDY.

Both families eventually moved from the Clarence area in southern Tasmania to the northern Tasmanian town of Lilydale, where they evidently 'lived down the road' from each other. Ann's family called itself MUNDY, Eliza and Henry's - FRANKLIN. Henry was one of the local shoemakers.
