Eliza Jane CASSIDY d 6 Aug 1882 aged 39 yrs Trentham [Vic 3765] Eliza died in 1882 without leaving a Will and on Probate documents of there are the signatures of Richard CASSIDY and Daniel James HOCKEY who described his occupation as Bushman. Richard said that Eliza had raised the money for the land purchase by being employed as a dressmaker and by savings from housekeeping allowances. Date of grant was 19 Oct 1883 [26/789] (Wills & Probates)

James CHARLES age 16 and his father William (Boulden) CHARLES age 44, both listed as English miners, immigrated to Victoria on the Joseph Tarratt which arr Melbourne 30 Apr 1856 from Liverpool. The ship was 893 tons and carried 220 passengers. [Unassisted Immigration to Victoria from a British Port, Fiche 107, Page 004]
The eldest son, Phillip William CHARLES aged abt 19, is not listed as a passenger but it is possible that he was on this voyage working his passage as a crew member.
