1. Phoebe SHOEMAKER married Daniel SHANAHAN. They had a son Daniel chr 1841 at Buttevant RC and two daughters christened at Doneraile, Co Cork: Catherine 1847 and Hannah 1850. [EW p18, p72, p315] There were other sons. This family was living in Ireland in 1863.

This couple emigrated to America abt 1845 and is recorded in census returns for Lodi, NY in 1851 and 1861 [EW p315]
A daughter, Phobe SHOEMAKER b Sep 1844, chr 20 Sep 1844 Rathkeale d/o of John (labourer) and Mary (CRONSBERRY) of Ballywilliam ('the bog of Ballywilliam in Rathkeale Parish' P O'C p54) This was the last SHOEMAKER entry in the Rathkeale Parish Baptismal Register indicating that all the rest had emigrated. [IGI Batch No. C700591 extracted from parish records] This Phoebe died in infancy. Other chn of John/Mary SHOEMAKER were born in the USA: George 1846-7, Phoebe Ann c1848, Sarah Jane 1849-61, Catherine c1851, William c1853 and Wilhelmina c1856 [EW p72]
CRONENBERGER (Cronerberry, Cronsberry, Kroniberger) is also an Irish Palatine surname. According to Hank Jones the origins of this family were in the Taunus region at Lorsbach (14k E of Wiesbaden) where Churchbooks date back to 1639. The Irish Palatine emigrant was Heinrich CRONENBERGER recorded as Henry KRONIBERGER on 13 Jul 1715 and as Henry KROMBERGER on 29 Sep 1720. [HJ p33, Groves Papers HJ p34]

4. Anne SHOEMAKER b abt 1821 (not found in Rathkeale Baptisms) Ann SHOEMAKER d 2 May 1873 aged 52 yrs Spring Vale Water, Gininderra, New South Wales, Australia, Farmer's Wife. (Living children: 3 sons, 4 daughters, 1 male deceased)
Anne SHOEMAKER (of Rathkeale Parish) m 13 Oct 1840 at Rathkeale, Limerick, Richard SHOEMAKER (labourer of Cloheen Parish, Co Cork) [IGI Batch No M700591 extracted from parish records] It is thought that Anne's grandfather Daniel and Richard's grandfather Jacob were brothers, sons of John SHOEMAKER. This would make Anne and Richard second cousins.
Richard SHOEMAKER chr 22 Dec 1816 Kilfinane, Limerick s/o Peter/Elizabeth (possibly FITZELLE). Richard SHUMACK d 1887 at Canberra, bur St John's C of E Canberra.

Richard and Anne SHOEMAKER and their four children emigrated to New South Wales in 1856 and went to work for George CAMPBELL at Duntroon who sponsored the immigration of the family.

Peter at Queanbeyan and the others at Bathurst.
Anne SHOEMACK 36, Nurse, Native Place: Rathkeale Co Limerick d/o George and Catherine SHOEMACK, father deceased, mother living at Buttevant, Co Cork, Religious Denomination: C of E, Could read and write, Brother is Amos SHOEMACK supposed living Goulburn.
Elizabeth SHOEMACK 13, Native Place: (b 1842) Buttevant, Co Cork, Religious Denomination: C of E, Could read and write.
Margaret SHOEMACK 12, Native Place: (b 1844) Buttevant, Co Cork, Religious Denomination: C of E, Could read only.
John SHOEMACK 8, Native Place: (b 1847) Buttevant, Co Cork, Religious Denomination: C of E, Could read only.
Samuel SHOEMACK 5, Native Place: (b 1850) Donoughrall (Donneraile), Co Cork, Religious Denomination: C of E, Could neither read or write.
