Here we have a George and Mary SHOMACK in England, so probably the couple who arrived in Melbourne in 1857. Amos was the name of the older brother of George b 1821 Rathkeale, Limerick, Ireland. No marriage or other children to this couple found on IGI or in the Victorian Index.

George SHOMACK was a Beer House Keeper at 28 Peter Street Liverpool in Feb 1855. Here is a notice of his impending insolvency in the London Gazette, issue 21662, published 13 Feb 1855, p 586-7. George was instructed to appear in the Liverpool District Court, 3 Lime-street on 20 feb 1853. What was the outcome? Perhaps this was the reason they decided to immigrate and join his older brother Amos SHUMACK who was also a beer shop owner, at Long Point, Creswick, just a few miles to the west.
